A Sown Pluriverse is a spatial proposal sited at Wellington's Kent and Cambridge Terrace. Envisioned to initiate ecological change over a timeline of 20 years and beyond.

This project proposes a modular structural system that slowly grows with the native horoeka. The intertwining form sprouts from a seed, an idea of what a ‘street’ can look like if it were to embrace its many communities. This is a suggestion of what a shared space can be, where people and plants achieve a synergy. Where the use of the space is transformable and can adapt to the communities needs with ease. A Sown Pluriverse encourages diversity in existence, and for its participants to practice autonomy.
Initial vision where Kent and Cambridge Terrace is transformed into a lively third space that can adapt to host and facilitate many activities and ways of being. Looking to inspire engagement with wai, kai, performing arts, festivals, garden markets, and nature.
Phase 1: Horoeka trees are planted in four small elevated bases that are placed along Kent and Cambridge Terrace.
Phase 2: The horoeka grow for 15 years, reaching a juvenile state. The second levels of the bases are now accessible, built upon, and begin to stretch to the sides of the street through bridges.
Phase 3: The horoeka grows to an adult state, reaching a height of 15m - 20m. The engagement with the space has also been growing and communities have influenced the shape of the structure. A light rail is also added in place of one of the roads and the other forms the first level, dedicated to pedestrians and street markets.
